Hurricane Irene pix-Part I

Scenes from around Mathews County, Virginia, before, during, and after Hurricane Irene. My camera is a small, basic Canon digital. The photos look black and white due to weather conditions.

Noah! Noah! Where IS that ark?!
Water rising rapidy
Hard to believe the dock is now almost completely under water!
This seagul was looking rather worried....
Public boat landing. The water is normally NOT this high! Charlie and Toby wait in the Jeep as it was raining and high winds.

Cows in Hallieford...

Since we've lived in this county for just over 4 years now, I thought that I should get out and explore some of the side roads I've never been down. Glad I did, as I found a most unique scene. There was a "private property" sign which tells outsiders that this is not a public park and they're keeping the crazy to themselves. But I gotta say--I'd love to meet the folks who do stuff like this...

Reflections

I reflect a lot on life and such...maybe that's one reason I'm draw to photographing reflections...

Captain Charlie!

My wonderful husband of 31 years, Charlie! He loves being Captain of his boat! Here we are cruising on Queen's Creek, not far from the Chesapeake Bay.

A fun boat ride...

Went on a little boat ride the other night and picked up a hitchhiker. :) Love the crab hat!

Who could this photographer be?

Has to be one of the prettiest spots on Queen's Creek!

Someone looked liked she needed a boat ride... :)

Geese were involved....

Firewood

I hired a young man to stack our firewood but he obviously didn't get that the operative word was "stack." :)
